In March this year, CECEP Solar Energy Technology (Zhenjiang) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Zhenjiang Company”) officially launched the 166 large solar panel which has realized mass production and delivery in batches with total power of 445 W, leading the industry in this field. Meanwhile, Zhenjiang Company has gathered excellent R&D personnel to develop new-generation UHP solar panel as a response to PV power stations’ need for reducing costs and improving efficiency. Currently, relevant design and verification work have been completed, and it is expected to achieve mass production of UHP solar panel in the third quarter of 2020. As a result, the total power of UHP solar panel will reach 540 W at most, an increase of 95 W compared to 166 solar panel. It marks the arrival of the 5.4 Era.
Equipped with M10 silicon wafer (182 mm*182 mm), half-cell module & MBB technology, micro-concentrator PV ribbon, reinforced rack and high current junction box, the mass production of 72-cell UHP solar panel will reach total power of 540 W, with solar panel efficiency exceeding 21%. The power of 78-cell UHP solar panel will even reach 590 W and achieve further upgrade. To reduce the risk of transporting UHP solar panel, the design team of Zhenjiang Company has comprehensively improved its package, which has passed the tightened static and extreme dynamic tests. In order to cope with the challenge of mass production of advanced solar panel, Zhenjiang Company has also established a special team to deal with difficulties in key equipment and process, finally completing the mass production adjustment of UHP solar panel.
Supported by ultra-high power and efficient solar panel, the BOS and LCOE of 540 W solar panel reduce by about 4% and about 3% respectively compared to the 445 W solar panel. The R&D team has also reinforced racks and lightened double-sided solar panels to improve the installation efficiency and realize maximum power generation based on safe and reliable installation.
